The Torchwood Archive

To celebrate Torchwood's tenth anniversary in October, Big Finish are pleased to announce a new release...

Torchwood - The Torchwood Archive is a two-disc special release coming in October from Big Finish, celebrating ten years of the massively popular Doctor Who spin-off by bringing together a host of familiar faces in a brand new adventure from writer and producer James Goss:

"Welcome, visitor. The Torchwood Archive provides a complete history of our Institute from its distant beginnings to the present day. When we founded our great enterprise in the year of our Lord 1879, we decreed that there should be a record of this achievement, stored at the very furthest limits of the British Empire. By visiting you are spreading that legacy, perhaps out through the skies. For now, I shall bid you a good day and welcome you to the Torchwood Archive. Do, please look around."
The Torchwood Archive is a forgotten asteroid in the centre of a great war. Jeremiah is its first visitor in many centuries. He's come to learn something very important. And the ghosts of Torchwood are waiting for him.

As James explains: "The Torchwood Archive is a celebration of 10 years of Torchwood. It features scenes with characters from the beginning of Torchwood to what may be its very end - from Queen Victoria through to Jeremiah Bash Henderson. It's an excuse to gather together literally everyone we could get our hands on. It's an unusual release - part anthology, part giddy epic, and mostly just a shameless excuse to hopefully make the fans ridiculously happy."

The story's director, Scott Handcock, adds: "It’s a year since our first Torchwood release and we’ve been discussing the tenth anniversary since the very beginning! The Torchwood Archive is a celebration of all things Torchwood. We’ve spent over a year pulling it together. It’s intricate, epic, insane and tells the story of Torchwood in a way we’ve never experienced before. Fans are in for a treat!”

The Torchwood Archive comes out in October exclusive to Big Finish, and is available for pre-order at £11.99 on Download and £13.99 on CD (instantly unlocking a download version on release), with the pre-release prices ending at the end of the year with the story's general release.

All the Big Finish Torchwood stories can be found here, including high-value bundles collecting together some of these acclaimed releases to date.
